Criss Angel being a dick?

1
Criss Angel - Collectors Edition DVD SetI know that for many of you, the news that Criss Angel was being a dick recently isn't going to make you do a double-take. But someone forwarded me an article where it seems that Criss went off on two other magicians who happened to be at the Luxor, going so far as to have them removed from the property. Geeze, what a dick!

There is another side to the story, a side that the brief article I read didn't really cover, and I'd like to speculate on.

In the article, it says that one of the magicians was Val Valentino. Name ring a bell? Well it should, because Val Valentino was the Masked Magician on Magic's Secrets Rvealed (or whatever that garbage was called). Now for a bit there, Val made his living exposing various illusions and sleights on network television for the entire country to see at it's leisure. Well, to be honest, he exposed more illusionis than sleights.
Yeah, but at least he got rid of the beard.

And doesn't Angel use more illusions in his shows? So wouldn't it make sense that the magician who has been removed from many (if not all) magic socieites across the globe would be greeted with hostility from Angel? Maybe if some of you would pull your heads out of your own [explitive deleted] then you could do a bit of research and decide that perhaps any magician faced with running into one of magic's most hated names would be a bit upset.

So maybe do a bit more research first.

Wow. That beard...

And yeah, I loved the omission of Val's (ironic) 'true' identity. In this case it was a reverse 'mask' on the fact he was the masked magician. What I love is that people apparently wanted his autograph.

And as to Angel, he's at the Luxor - the least impressive 'new' hotel on the strip - and is headlining a tanking theater show. His hotel depends on the novelty factor of it being a pyramid, his act depends on the novelty of being freakish, and his show has the novelty of being a magician themed Cirque show - and the problem with novelties is that the novel qualities eventually wear off. I can tell you right now that had Cirque had full control over their Luxor show they'd have come out with another timeless theatrical masterpiece worthy of a Vegas stage. If he wants to throw a fit he has that right - I almost feel bad for the guy. Angel might be a jerk, who knows, but Valentino deserves to be reminded that not everybody in the world wants to be in his presence.
